i wore striped thigh highs. i might wear them all weekend. sexy but somehow still conservative enough… tan and black vertical stripes. no one knows they are thigh highs and covered in lace at the top, except me. (and the people i show!)
i went to one of the most amazing sushi places i have ever been to. nihon sushi on folsom, serving amazing whiskey, scotch, and sushi. yum. that was a work-related thing, and it was expensive but i did not pay and people kept ordering me warming pricey old scotch and i kept drinking them. a sushi and whiskey place. who would have thought? but it is GOOD> together.
then, went on a date with a guy wearing a t-shirt with a tiger on it. the tiger was wearing a head-band, like a 70s work-out head-band, that said ‘No Regrets’. he also wore chuck taylors that were sequined in a tiger pattern! can you believe it! and he was nice and sweet and way more quiet than one would think, from seeing that outfit. and drove a vespa. and can you believe it, not gay.
we went to om shan tea house, a place that was just great and had the most amazing tables made from RECYCLED CONFESSIONALS!!!!!! they were a pretty metal open weave and had buckets underneath to catch the spills. ( the cute funny hippy/rocker purple haired server said: ‘if you have anything you wanna confess, just pour your tea a little too high and let it flow out and drip down the table! easier than catholic church, huh?!’)
it was a poetry open mike thing, but it was bearable. someone read a poem called ‘she had some horses’ by joy harjo.
“She had horses who laughed too much.
She had horses who threw rocks at glass houses.
She had horses who licked razor blades.
She had some horses.
She had some horses she loved.
She had some horses she hated.
These were the same horses.”
then onto dive bars with pinatas hanging from the ceiling.
then, finally home. no more sequined tiger converse. no more party favor-ed ceilings. just to my bed.
