alex dear, wow that speaker story was so great. i read it like 3 times. i loved it more each time.
jeez, the universe can be so loving and giving at times. ahhhhh/yay.
i went to an improv comedy thing last night that sorta totally reminded me of my time dating dennis in nyc (who worked for comedy central and did a lot of improv in his spare time when he wasnt writing books). the set up of this night of comedy was that you got to fill out little questions (or big questions) on little slips of paper, and the improv guys read the questions out loud and discussed them in a usually funny way. i asked ‘how do you celebrate an un-birthday’ bc the guy i am staying with out here had a paperwork snafu with his birth certificate, and while he was actually born on the 27th of july, the 7 looked like a 1, and his paperwork still states the 21st of july as being his birthday. the person who read the question answered ‘you celebrate the same as a birthday, with the cake and ice cream and fun, but, you dont have to suffer through people singing that awful song’. : )
my friend had the hit question of the night (i guess this would be considered a big question not a little one) with ‘WHAT IS LOVE?’. they saved it til the very very end, the very last question. and the answer guy, Hal, went on at length about how it is worth risking everything for, even when the whole world puts up barriers that may prevent one from having it, and… a bunch of other stuff that i dont quite remember, bc he went on for about 3 minutes, and there was a fog machine involved:)) but it was a lovely experience. and whatever his answer was it was lovely and i was in agreement. and we all left a little more enlightened about graceful ways to emote about love, in a Q&A format. ❤
