WIND (from alexander)

it’s as if i didn’t miss the wind
or rather, i just never noticed the absence  of it all this time
now, outside for my evening half-cigarette, it seems so different
leaves rustle
chimes dangle in the distant.
all summer,
where was this creaking sound
that makes me feel like this is a
crooked house?

my crooked house is filled now
and it makes me want to rearrange the furniture
and be in a whole, new
windy place.

instead i move small things around
and find old and new pictures from piles
now they are on the wall and it is a new place
until the wind gets inside and blows
it all around
