fucking journals (by alexander)

man…. i’m sitting in the albina press (where now you have been!) with a stack of journals from london and before and after, so i can try to put something together for this essay..  but jeff buckley has been playing for like an hour i feel, and i am deep into crazy times of my life in philadelphia, london and san francisco.  thank god i’m drinking coffee and not alcohol or i might start to get all whack about it.  funny stuff we go through when were young – i could never write these kind of thoughts down anymore, they would seem so lame and trivial, but those first years after high school and into adult hood sure do bring out some fucked up realities.

anyway, im about to get my title and synopsis together!

but here is a quote i wrote in a journal from london days:

“i’m the type of artist who would take the whole world and reduce it down to a little drop.  i’m fascinated by science’s dogmatic determinism: the belief that any even or action, however complex – a mozart concerto,  terrorist attack – arises from hydrogen atoms bashing into each other”  (i read that somewhere)

this one is good too,

“it looks good, it tastes good, and it FEELS good and thats what cake should do”
